Our cottage lies in the beautiful North Norfolk village of Binham, between a stream, a ruined Benedictine priory and a village green. A 200-year old brick and flint cottage, it has been extended and refurbished to add extra accommodation. It now has three bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner and a living room with a lovely view of the garden.
The living room is built on the footprint of an old outhouse which used to contain iron ovens where, we believe, bread was baked for the neighbouring cottages. Sadly, the baking ovens are gone, but we have replaced them with an inviting wood-burning stove! We have added other new features for modern-day comfort, but hope you will agree we have retained the cottage's traditional charm and character.
In the village there is a useful shop, Howell's, which sells most groceries you might need. The village pub, The Chequers, serves Norfolk beer and tasty food. Binham also now has The Little Dairy Shop and The Parlour Cafe situated by the Priory, where you can buy brunches, lunches and teas, and raw milk from the local dairy herd. Not to mention delicious fresh coffee and ice-cream!
There are many delightful local walks you can take round the village.
