Accommodation
At the heart of the cottage is a bright and spacious living room with patio doors offering a wonderful view of the garden. For chilly nights there is a woodburning stove as well as underfloor heating. The living room has a TV, DVD, CD player and a full-size double sofabed.
Between the living room and the rest of the house is a lobby for muddy shoes, as well as a shower room and toilet.
Adjoining the lobby is the kitchen/dining area. The kitchen has everything you would expect including a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and two fridges.
Downstairs is a twin bedroom (3' beds) which has space for a cot or extra bed for a child (a travel cot is provided). This room is ideal for anyone who can't manage the stairs.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, one double and one with twin beds (2'6"), and a bathroom.
Outside is a patio with a table and chairs, parking for two cars, and a garage which is used to store logs for the woodburner etc. At the bottom of the large garden is a stream where we see ducks and fish. Please take care that young children don't stray there alone. Also with young children in mind, please keep the gate to the road shut.
We ask that you bring the bedlinen and towels you need. If this is difficult for you, let us know and we may be able to provide linens for an extra fee. Duvets and pillows are provided for all beds, but if you are using a cot, please bring your own sheets.
The living room is built on the footprint of an old outhouse which used to contain iron ovens. The baking ovens are gone, but we now have an cosy wood-burner! We have added other new features for modern-day comfort, but hope you will agree we have retained the cottage's traditional charm and character.
